  • A system of medicine developed in 1874 by AT Still which utilizes assessment of alignment and treatment with hands on the body.

There are many techniques which are employed including myofascial release, counter strain and muscle energy and osteopathy in the cranial field of which Cranial Sacral is an off shoot.

I may utilize any of these techniques but usually let the bodies wisdom guide my hands rather than deciding what is needed. My approach is typically very gentle and relaxing.

  • Emotions by nature are temporary experiences though they can get held up in our bodies. This can be experienced as pain or tension, or feeling stuck in the same emotion.

This treatment allows the emotion to be felt and moved through in a non traumatizing way. You can be gently physically held in this process or be witnessed without touch.

  • More and more in healthcare you are given choices. Your providers may not have the time to go through all of the options or you may need to review the medical information and your emotional response to it.

Testimonials

  • I feel so fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, dedicated, kind, gentle, and truly caring doctor to help me navigate through many confusing health situations in the past several years in such a thorough, but common sense matter. I have enjoyed having the wonderful advantage of having the best doctor in town.

  • My Husband and I have been going to Doctor Jenny for several years. I originally found her because she was treating my elderly father.  She treated him with such respect and dignity that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have her as our care provider.  My husband and I appreciate that she is so wiling to take other approaches than to just push a prescription.  Having a physician that will allow you to have dignity of your own  body and compassion of your choice is very rare to find.   She is kind, loving, and a very gentle being;  she listens and advises without pressure and her expertise in her opinions are gladly welcomed.

  • My path here has been circuitous and the story is best told in reverse.

At Oak Street Medical I enjoyed providing primary care for over 1500 people for the last 6 + years with great support from my colleagues and the medical staff.

For over 10,000 hours, I have been practicing integrative medical care and osteopathic manual medicine (OMM).

Courses broadened my knowledge of OMM, refining my approach to deep and subtle listening with my hands and whole being. My most recent courses have been in Biodynamic Osteopathy and Sensing and Releasing Emotional Trauma.

Prior to moving to Eugene, I trained in Family Medicine and provided primary care at NY Presbyterian Hospital through Columbia University. My allopathic training was supplemented by an online fellowship in Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona.

At West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV I earned my DO degree and completed an additional year or work/training as a graduate teaching assistant of OMM.

Prior to medical school, I worked at 11th Street, a Federally Qualified Health Center in North Philadelphia. Starting as a volunteer for the weekly food distribution program, I became a full time AmeriCorps volunteer doing health education and community outreach. After completing my year of service, I worked in the free fitness center and physical therapy office teaching yoga and practicing Reiki with patients and staff. The Institute of Integrative Nutrition was the next educational endeavor which gave me exposure to a variety of nutrition and wellness schools of thought.

Practicing integrative nutrition counseling and reiki with individuals who were very ill, I realized I needed to learn more about the human body and also about the medications people were taking.

The ultimate impulse to go to medical school was to help people transition off pharmaceuticals who were safe to do so and were seeking that change.

Prior to my years of volunteer service with AmeriCorps, my meditation practice began with a transcendental meditation class gifted by a friend. The peace of meditation was new and exciting and so I spread the gift to others. Since then I participated in two ten-day Vipassana silent meditation retreats and co-taught a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction class. After practicing meditation regularly for 2 decades, that silence feels like an old friend I delight in visiting many times a day, and I love to help people to find their door into to mindful breathing, movement or sitting.

I am excited to be in the next chapter, stepping fully into creating my own medical practice.

You can hear I have dedicated myself to learning about health and healing, but there is more to life than just medicine. I love playing games with my family, dancing west coast swing, lindy hop and blues, singing with friends, swimming, walking in the woods, and cooking nourishing foods.
